We are always moving in one of two directions: growth or atrophy. When we live on cruise control for too long, we feel safe, but soon atrophy sets in. We feel stuck. Change can feel risky. But it’s more risky to stay the same.

Action is the best antidote. Breaking our comfortable routines – the routes we travel, the people and places we visit, the activities where we spend our time – is how we pivot from atrophy to growth.

“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?” – Rumi
